Rewriting the relationship code: Tempo Labs, AWS, and the power of three

Why we chose AWS for our next chapter

Design and engineering should collaborate on real code, not throwaway prototypes. To make that a reality at scale, we needed a cloud partner that could deliver on three fronts: deep AI tooling, production-grade infrastructure, and go-to-market reach. We found that in AWS. See the full AWS Startups feature: “Rewriting the relationship code: Tempo Labs, AWS, and the power of three.”

What we’ve built—on AWS

Tempo migrated its core infrastructure to Amazon EKS, running on Amazon EC2 with Amazon S3, AWS database, and networking services. For generative AI, we’re standardizing on Amazon Bedrock—and working with the AWS Generative AI Innovation Center on new agent capabilities that enhance the product experience.

Measurable impact for our users

• Scale + efficiency: Since moving to AWS, we’ve dramatically improved scalability and achieved a 5× reduction in cloud costs, while growing to 100,000+ users.
• Design-to-code reuse: Tempo now enables high reuse of designer-generated code, speeding delivery and reducing QA friction while keeping pixel-perfect control for sophisticated designers.

Why this partnership matters to teams

• Figma-parity design workflows with a familiar visual environment—backed by maintainable React code.
• Production-grade stability: deterministic outputs, clean diffs, and CI/CD-friendly PRs.
• Choice without extra rate limits: bring your own model subscriptions (e.g., Claude) and run high-volume prompts inside Tempo without additional platform rate caps.
• Enterprise-ready paths: governance, security, and collaboration patterns built for scale.

Looking ahead: enterprise reach on AWS

AWS isn’t just our infrastructure—it’s a distribution partner. We’re preparing to list on AWS Marketplace to help enterprise buyers adopt Tempo within existing procurement and billing, and to expand globally alongside AWS’s footprint.
